As temperatures soared to 33°C on Monday 30th June, we gathered to celebrate a milestone that marks both an end and a beginning - the graduation of our 2024–2025 trainee teachers. With 108 trainees recommended for QTS, this exceptional cohort leaves not only with professional qualifications but also with friendships, memories and wisdom that will last a lifetime.

Both our primary and secondary graduation ceremonies were filled with pride, encouragement and plenty of laughter as we reflected on each trainee’s journey - from their first nervous lessons to becoming confident, capable classroom leaders. We couldn’t be prouder!

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was our Letters to Your Future Self activity. Each trainee wrote a personal note to be opened during a challenging moment in their Early Career Teacher (ECT) journey, a small but powerful reminder of how far they’ve come and why they chose this profession.

Our trainee-voted awards brought even more joy to the room as we celebrated the quirks and qualities that made this cohort so unique. Categories ranged from Most Likely to Become a Headteacher to Most Likely to Go Off Topic in a Lesson. We also honoured trainees who demonstrated extraordinary growth, resilience and commitment throughout the year with awards such as or Progress and Professional Excellence. Before the ceremony ended, our graduates shared their ‘pearls of wisdom’ for the next cohort of trainee teachers. A few standouts included: "Keep updating your subject knowledge to master your subject and increase your confidence in teaching” and "There is no such thing as a perfect teacher!”

Liza Hooper, ITT Programme Director for Primary said, "Supporting our primary trainees to become compassionate, skilled and reflective education practitioners has been a true privilege. From their first tentative steps in the classroom to confidently leading learning, we celebrate with you and wish you every success in your teaching careers - well done!”

We wish our ITT graduates every success as they begin their ECT years and step into classrooms across West London and beyond. We’re proud to have been part of your journey and excited to see what you achieve as part of our Teach West London alumni network
